This housing development was the first project delivered of the new riverside ecological district on the Île-Saint-Denis. It is bringing back to life a former industrial wasteland: Friche Michels.

The architects Brigitte Philippon and Jean Kalt developed an innovative system of recyclable lightweight facades especially for this project.

Current projects

Each project in the eco-district provides an innovative response to a specific problem stated in the riverside eco-district charter, presented in the specifications by the planners Philippon – Kalt for the Plaine Commune and Ile-Saint-Denis authorities.

The different architectural styles combine in a harmonious blend of colours and create dialogue between the buildings.
Features common to each project favour multiple uses and encourage connections between residents.

The development includes features such as shared spaces (e.g. studio for friends and guests, games, study and DIY rooms), wide balconies for everyone with views over the Seine, views in two different directions for apartments with two or more bedrooms and communal corridors with natural lighting.
